DVD review: The Good Sisters (Video 2009)

Breanne Good (Debbie Rochon) and Kindra Good (April Monique Burril) are sisters with a secret life - practitioners of witchcraft, glamours, and black magic. Fiercely protective of their privacy, craft, and ancient bloodline, they become suspicious of their new neighboor Daniel (David Calhoun) who also leads a life shrouded in mystery. Unsure if he is unnaturally obsessed with them - or if they are only being paranoid - the Good Sisters will have to draw all their power about them as it becomes clear their ages-old battle of good versus evil, light versus dark, freedom versus oppression may be about to begin again. Which leaves the question... who is being Good, and who is not? The Good Sisters is written, edited and directed by Jimmyo Burril. The acting is good, especially from Debbie Rochon and April Monique Burril who portay their characters descent into escalating paranoia. The camerawork and editing is good. The soundtrack is very good and helps to create a nice atmosphere.
There are a couple of gory scenes, practical make-up fx but most of the graptic violence takes place off screen. In the T & A department we get skimpy outfits, topless female nudity and incest.

This review is based upon the All region DVD release from Forbidden Pictures & Mystic Pictures, it´s unrated.
Rating: 6 out of 7. Not at all what I expected, it is very entertaining and I liked it. It´s a nice witchcraft flick and Debbie Rochon is smoking hot. Highy recommended if you´re a fan of occult movies.
